Students, Parents, and Educators for Achievement through Knowledge

SPEAKVT is a completely unofficial organization of Essex, Vermont citizens who are deeply concerned with what is happening in our Essex/Westford School District (EWSD).  The group originated when several of us attended a community engagement workshop hosted by the EWSD.  The workshop was entitled, "Portrait of a Graduate" and was facilitated by an outside consulting firm, Battelle for Kids.  The group grew increasingly alarmed by the direction of the workshop, the limitations in public discourse, and by what the EWSD administration was saying about the results 

While our efforts are specific to the Essex/Westford School District, we know that these issues are not unique to our community.  Don't hesitate to reach out if you think there are things we can do better together.
